Image Craft is excited to welcome John Heiskell to our sales team. Jon brings a tremendous background and experience in the large format industry. He began his career in the back of the shop learning the trade in production and prepress. In fact, Jon started his career in graphic communications at the tender age of 16. Jon gained valuable knowledge and understanding of the entire printing process that solidified his expertise in color management and ability to provide efficient and creative solutions to his clients when he transitioned to sales.
While Jon enjoys working with a variety of clients in various verticals, his passion lies with projects that are multilayered requiring him to develop a graphic solution that uses all of his knowledge. The more complex and the more substrates involved, the better as far as he is concerned. Jon knows how to consult with his clients to choose the right material, printed with the correct printer, with the appropriate attention to color that maximizes clients’ budgets large and small.
Jon made the decision to join our team when he toured our facility and saw the breadth of our capabilities. On his first day at Image Craft he said he was most excited about the ability to now confidently tell clients “Yes, we can do that!”.
While Jon tends to be a gearhead hanging out with the print operators talking specs, when he is away from the office he enjoys exploring Arizona. He is a born and bred Arizonan and takes tremendous pride in the state.
We are excited for Jon to represent Image Craft and know his clients. If you think Jon would be a good fit for your projects or you just want to wish him well, he can be reached at email@example.com.
Last week we posted the giant APS banners recently installed downtown on a parking garage, so today we thought we’d show you this video we made last year of a giant 110′ x 14′ Phoenix Suns banner being installed on the same building using a similar SignComp tension system:
As you can see in the video, the banner was printed on a Vutek 5300 using solvent ink on frontlit vinyl, an ideal combination for long-term outdoor signage, though we’ve recently upgraded our equipment to bring you even more print options using the latest technology! The video itself was shot and produced by our Installations Manager, Aaron Wright. (Whoa, slow down, there, Aaron, stop and smell the… uh… oranges….).
APS brings a touch of nature to downtown Phoenix! Starting with huge 50GB files, Image Craft printed these superwide format banners on frontlit vinyl using solvent ink and joined the panels together with welded seams. FLV (frontlit vinyl) is ideal for outdoor signage due to its weather-resistant, UV stabilized, and flame-retardant properties, but also has multiple indoor uses.
The APS banners were installed in collaboration with YESCO at the Jefferson Street Garage for Legends Entertainment District, a partnership between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns to create a unique experiential outdoor marketing project in downtown Phoenix centered around such landmark facilities as US Airways Center and Chase Field.
We’re excited to bring you this sneak peek at some of the graphics we produced for the MLB All-Star FanFest 2011 taking place at the Phoenix Convention Center from July 8-12 in conjunction with the annual MLB All-Star Game!

Except for the Diamondbacks team cutouts, most of the graphics seen in these photographs were printed with solvent ink on adhesive vinyl with matte lamination and applied on-site. The life-size AZ Diamondbacks 2001 World Series Champion team cutouts were printed in sections directly to MDF, cut to shape with a CNC router, and installed on-site.

Yesterday we posted photos of a 24′ x 24′ banner we installed at US Airways Center for the Phoenix Mercury’s home opener in June. If you’ve ever wondered exactly how these huge banners are hung, take a look at this video produced by our Installations Manager, Aaron Wright, during an install in the same spot last year. The banner was printed on a Vutek 5300 16′ solvent printer, which allows us to produce it with only one weld (seam).

On June 16th, we installed these large graphics inside US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix just in time for the WNBA Phoenix Mercury’s home opener on the 17th!

Shown in the first photo are backlit Lambda Duratrans and Latex printed Adhesive Vinyl wall graphics. The second photo features a 24’ x 24’ Vinyl Banner Stretched into a SignComp Frame system.
Unfortunately, the Mercury lost their home opener, but we’re pretty sure the graphics were not to blame! Let’s hope they provide some luck for the rest of the season! #GOMERC!!
