Image Craft Welcomes Jon Heiskell

March 30, 2016

Image Craft is excited to welcome John Heiskell to our sales team.  Jon brings a tremendous background and experience in the large format industry. He began his career in the back of the shop  learning the trade in production and prepress.  In fact, Jon started his career in graphic communications at the tender age of 16.  Jon gained valuable knowledge and understanding of the entire printing  process that solidified his expertise in color management and ability to provide efficient and creative solutions to his clients when he transitioned to sales.

While Jon enjoys working with a variety of clients in various verticals, his passion lies with projects that are multilayered requiring him to develop a graphic solution that uses all of his knowledge. The more complex  and the more substrates involved, the better as far as he is concerned. Jon knows how to consult with his clients to choose the right material, printed with the correct printer, with the appropriate attention to color that maximizes clients’ budgets large and small.

Jon made the decision to join our team when he toured our facility and saw the breadth of our capabilities. On his first day at Image Craft he said he was most excited about the ability to now confidently tell clients “Yes, we can do that!”.

While Jon tends to be a gearhead hanging out with the print operators talking specs, when he is away from the office he enjoys exploring Arizona. He is a born and bred Arizonan and takes tremendous pride in the state.

We are excited for Jon to represent Image Craft and know his clients. If you think Jon would be a good fit for your projects or you just want to wish him well, he can be reached at

Dillon Works – First Baptist Church Installation

Dillon Works was in need of a company to produce and install graphics for the children’s ministries areas at the First Baptist Church in downtown Dallas, TX.. Dillon Works’ Director of Design remembered working with a company on a previous project, who impressed her with their attention to detail , as well as their professionalism, from a previous project that consisted of matching a printed mural to existing fabric curtains for a large venue. That company was Image Craft.

In September 2012, a production meeting was called to work out the details of how the three floors of the project would be organized and scheduled. Image Craft took the artwork, created by Dillon Works’ design team, and began printing the murals to a commercial wall vinyl with UV cured inks, finished with a protective matte liquid laminate.

Each of the three floors has its own unique, age-appropriate theme. The first floor of the church is a “sunny beach/vacation theme”. The illustrations are eleven feet tall and at some places 30 feet wide, printed in vibrant colors. To keep the installation running smoothly, our Installation Department and Production Department coordinated printing and delivery of graphics to ensure efficient use of time with the assurance of remaining on schedule. The second floor graphics with a “neighborhood” theme were prepped, tested and approved while the first floor installation was completed. With the same tight, consistent control, graphics were installed and the walls began to take on a new, sharp and brilliant look. By December, the third floor printing, with a “mission control” theme, was almost complete and final installation preparations were being scheduled for mid-January. Our murals were spot on and Dillon Works was extremely pleased with Image Craft’s performance.

The final touches – a large play area on each floor, included custom dimensional icons of the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and the Alamo, each surface treated with printed, adhesive vinyl graphics, installed on site by our team. The projected opened Easter Sunday 2013. Dillon Works and their client, First Baptist Church, were extremely pleased with Image Craft’s role in making this massive project a complete success.

DENVER, COLO. – Image Craft (which recently acquired Qube Visual, the official signage provider for Pepsi Center), a graphic printing, fine art reproduction and themed-environment company, will be transforming the interior and exterior of Pepsi Center, the Colorado Convention Center and the five host hotels for the NCAA® Women’s Final Four®, with the installation of large-scale graphics and production of team-specific signage.

Image Craft was selected by Sport Graphics of Indianapolis, the design agency of record for the NCAA that oversees the décor project management, production and installation for all of the organization’s 89 championships, to do the team-specific graphics and the complete installation. Preparations and coordination have been going on for the past month and the company plans to have the interior work on the arena finished by Wednesday.

“We are excited to partner with the NCAA, Sport Graphics and Pepsi Center to execute this installation for the Women’s Final Four,” says Krik Krikorian, account executive for Qube Visual and now Image Craft. “Based on our capabilities and experience working with Pepsi Center, this is a natural fit for us.”

Legends Entertainment District Banners!

APS brings a touch of nature to downtown Phoenix! Starting with huge 50GB files, Image Craft printed these superwide format banners on frontlit vinyl using solvent ink and joined the panels together with welded seams. FLV (frontlit vinyl) is ideal for outdoor signage due to its weather-resistant, UV stabilized, and flame-retardant properties, but also has multiple indoor uses.

APS Giant Banners

The APS banners were installed in collaboration with YESCO at the Jefferson Street Garage for Legends Entertainment District, a partnership between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns to create a unique experiential outdoor marketing project in downtown Phoenix centered around such landmark facilities as US Airways Center and Chase Field.

See a 24′ x 24′ Banner Installed!

Yesterday we posted photos of a 24′ x 24′ banner we installed at US Airways Center for the Phoenix Mercury’s home opener in June.  If you’ve ever wondered exactly how these huge banners are hung, take a look at this video produced by our Installations Manager, Aaron Wright, during an install in the same spot last year.  The banner was printed on a Vutek 5300 16′ solvent printer, which allows us to produce it with only one weld (seam).
