Little Bird

Take off with us – and see some of the before, during and after pictures of our amazing MultiCam® Camo wrapped helicopter.

– A beautiful Little Bird – now in MultiCam® Black –

The “Night Stalkers”, were one of the first Special Operations Forces that provided helicopter aerial support for general military missions and special operations. Their missions have included attack, assault, reconnaissance, and are usually conducted at night, at high speeds, low altitudes, on short notice and with very little room for error!

BeforeFor those missions,  small helicopters, that can land in the most remote locations, are used. They are affectionately called “Little Birds”, and Image Craft’s latest vinyl wrap project was to help one “Little Bird” to accomplish it’s mission in full camouflage.

Image Craft was commissioned to print and install the MultiCam® Black camo adhesive vinyl for one of these special helicopters. This particular MD 530F is being used by Dillon Aero and their partner Fulcrum Concepts for testing the Dillon Aero M134 Gatling Miniguns and other special operations aviation gear.

Of cblanketourse,  we have plenty of experience with wrapping the most “unusual” vehicles and objects, nevertheless a helicopter wrap with this level of detail requires the greatest attention during the installation process.

That's a wrap

Critical color matching and professional installation of the MultiCam® pattern is key for effectiveness, as well as superior materials are a necessity for any of our camo vinyl pattern reproductions.

Creativa Guides Portfolio Speed Date

Image Craft was one of several sponsors for Portfolio Speed Date, organized by Creativa Guides and held in Phoenix on Nov. 10, 2011. The event matched 30 photographers with creatives from all over the Valley, giving shutterbugs a chance to show their portfolios to a host of creative directors, photo editors, agency execs, and other photo buyers in a round robin speed dating atmosphere, switching tables every 5 minutes with the bang of a gong!

Shown at left is Image Craft’s sponsor table, and at right, Creativa’s 2011 Portfolio Speed Date in progress!

Please visit Creativa‘s web site for more information. The event was held at The Duce, a funky bar/gym/clothing store/bistro in the warehouse district downtown. More photos can be found on our Flickr page. Photos and video clips shot by Lori A. Johnson, and video below edited and produced by Susan Coppola, both of Image Craft, LLC.

PIR Pace Cars!

If you’re heading out to Phoenix International Raceway for the big NASCAR race this weekend, Nov. 12-13, 2011, keep your eyes peeled for the pace cars we wrapped! Printed and installed in our Phoenix facility, these Toyotas will be featured at the Kobalt Tools 500. The cars were designed by The Lavidge Company for Phoenix International Raceway.

Giant Banner Install: VIDEO

Last week we posted the giant APS banners recently installed downtown on a parking garage, so today we thought we’d show you this video we made last year of a giant 110′ x 14′ Phoenix Suns banner being installed on the same building using a similar SignComp tension system:

As you can see in the video, the banner was printed on a Vutek 5300 using solvent ink on frontlit vinyl, an ideal combination for long-term outdoor signage, though we’ve recently upgraded our equipment to bring you even more print options using the latest technology! The video itself was shot and produced by our Installations Manager, Aaron Wright.  (Whoa, slow down, there, Aaron, stop and smell the… uh… oranges….).

See a 24′ x 24′ Banner Installed!

Yesterday we posted photos of a 24′ x 24′ banner we installed at US Airways Center for the Phoenix Mercury’s home opener in June.  If you’ve ever wondered exactly how these huge banners are hung, take a look at this video produced by our Installations Manager, Aaron Wright, during an install in the same spot last year.  The banner was printed on a Vutek 5300 16′ solvent printer, which allows us to produce it with only one weld (seam).
